The New Year always sneaks up on me - it’s hard to believe it’s 2019 – Oh, where did the time go! Now that the holidays are officially over and life has started to get back to normal, it’s time to plan a little time for yourself. I can’t think of a better idea than to take some chill-laxing time at the Resort. Looking for something different to do while you are here? How about a trip to the Maritime Museum of San Diego? They feature a world-class collection of historic vessels including sailing ships, steam powered boats, and submarines. You can board and explore the ships any day of the week. What is really fun is that some of them will even take passengers for a cruise on the Bay. You can go to their web page to look at all the details at https://sdmaritime.org.
Don’t forget – our
farewell bash is on January 31st. We are bound and determined to end our time here with a bang; well maybe a clash of guitars! Our favorite Happy Hour entertainers will be here for a big jam session on Resort Way. Yes, that’s right, we’re closing down the main street and having a party to end all parties – or as the saying goes “We are going to whoop it up”! You will want to make your reservations to join us for this event as it will be a memory worth having.
Happy New Year Everyone from all of us at the Resort.
THANK YOU goes to all the
Happy Campers for all their hard work and dedication in making the Resort
light up for our last “Winter Wonderland Weekend,” which was December 7th and 8th. This was their 17th year and I can honestly say that this was one of the best ever. We also had the CDVR group with their annual Christmas parade. Mr. and Mrs. Claus and their elves paraded through the Resort, it was definitely a sight to see.
I put up a challenge in the December newsletter to see if we could beat our donation from last year for the Marines and their Toys for Tots program and, wow, did you all respond. We had over 6 bins full of toys. Several of the Marines commented on the outpouring of generosity. Thank you so much for making sure the children in San Diego had a new toy for Christmas.
Pasta Potluck Dinner
We will kick off our winter Snowbird Season with our ever-popular
Pasta Potluck on January 9th – so bring your appetite as it sure is a treat to see what new recipes everyone has come up with; I am always impressed with everyone’s splendid culinary skills.
January 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, and 20th
The first two Saturdays and first three Sundays in January: We will show the games on the
big screen TV in the central Courtyard, and the bar will be set up for beverages and snacks, too! It’s a great way to see the best games of the year and experience the buildup that will be Super Bowl Sunday!
January Farewell Bash (we saved the Best for Last)
Thursday, January 31 | 4 pm
You’ll want to join us for the
grand finale at the Chula Vista RV Resort. We are going to be celebrating our last night at the Resort by having a farewell jam with our favorite musicians; John Bowe, Jerry Gontang, David Houser and George James. These guys are going to rock your socks off with an
Old-Fashioned Street Dance. Be sure to make your reservation to stay with us on our final night as it is sure to be a night to go down in the record books!
