News from Our Resort to You
Happy New Year Everyone from all of us at the CVRV Resort! We are looking forward to another great year and hope that you'll being staying with us soon. One of the best things about our location in San Diego is that there is always something adventurous to do. Did you know that on average Gray Whales travel 10,000 miles on their annual migration from the Bering Sea to the Baja Peninsula? Once in Mexico the whales begin their birthing season, which is a sight to see! San Diego is fortunate in that we get to see both the southbound and northbound migration all the way through April. There have even been sightings as close as ½ mile from the bay. So, when you're thinking about what to do in January, why not plan a trip to the Resort and a whale watching cruise as well? There is such a variety of different types of Whale Watching tours that it makes it even more exciting. A couple of new ones are listed below. It is sure to be an adventure for the whole family!
Until we see your smiles, safe travels,

The Gossip Board
It was over eight years ago that an excited couple from Hamburg, Germany decided to embark on a Journey that forever changed their lives. Peter and Brigitte Boether decided that rather than vacationing close to home, maybe they should explore the Americas. For the first two years they were staying in hotels - then they realized that purchasing an RV would add to their adventure.
After their first purchase, a few friends told them about the Chula Vista RV Resort. They experienced what most RV'ers do after their first purchase - the opening of a whole new world of enjoyment. When they arrived, they immediately made friends. Neighbors helped them hook up, level their rig, and invited them to the many events, including our happy hours. After their wonderful experience at CVRV, they decided to return the next year, and have since made it an annual tradition to travel 6 months in the States and 6 months back home. We share this story to thank the wonderful community that has made our Resort what it is today. The Boethers, along with the many other families, both far and near, are much appreciated!

7th ANNUAL SAN DIEGO BREW FEST Sat, January 7 | Liberty Station
In the past year San Diego has added nearly two dozen new breweries, bringing its current total to over 120. Wow, with that in mind, why not take a trip to the 7th Annual San Diego Brew Fest at Liberty Station? It promises to be a fun-filled day with beer, food trucks and music. The event will feature dozens of local and international craft beers.
Going on a whale watching trip is something that you just have to do when you come to San Diego. There are several companies that offer trips to see the whales. The Flagship Cruises has partnered with Birch Aquarium and offer educational cruises, each cruise is guided by a marine expert from the Aquarium.
Another one of my favorite ways to see the whales and other sea life is offered by Next Level Sailing where you get to go out on the 138-ft yacht, America. This is a great way to get a look at all the ocean has to offer - they even have a "no-sea sickness" guarantee! For more information visit www.nextlevelsailing.com.

The most expensive and revolutionary destroyer ever built, will be home ported at San Diego Naval Base. It's scheduled to undergo further modifications and testing and will be here for a year. You will be able to see her as you go by the shipyard - her futuristic looks make her easy to spot!
