It’s always amazing to me how fast the summer goes by. It seems like yesterday we were getting ready for Memorial Day, and now the last of or our summer concert series is just around the corner. If you missed out on any of fun, you still have one more chance to enjoy our summer fun for Labor Day weekend.
We kick off this fun-filled weekend on Friday, August 31st, with Karaoke Happy Hour where you can sing on our stage while enjoying the beautiful backdrop of the San Diego Bay. Where else can you capture a great shot while singing your heart out? On Saturday, join us for Mark Woods and The Parrot Head Band. His Jimmy Buffet style music and our delicious margaritas will make you feel like you’re at Margaritaville. Wear your best parrot head costume to enter our costume contest. To make the night more enjoyable, instead of worrying about what to cook, grab yourself an authentic Mexican street taco from the Taco Man for just $2 and enjoy complimentary chips and salsa. On Sunday, we will have family day with free hot dogs, popcorn, snow cones, and face painting. Family day will also include the Wipe Out Blow Up Game which was a huge hit last year. So, get your calendar out and make your plans to stay with us for the last great holiday of the summer. We look forward to seeing you there !
Until we see your smiles, Safe Travels,
Andrea LaValley, GM
Please Keep in Mind!
Starting on Monday, July 16, the Port of San Diego will begin importing soil to the Chula Vista Bayfront for future construction purposes. The soil is needed to increase elevation to accommodate future potential sea level rise and to improve drainage.
The soil will be trucked in and deposited on a vacant lot adjacent to the RV Resort between 7:00 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Saturday. The anticipated truck volume will range from approximately 200 to a peak of 300 trucks a day. Yes, we agree “Couldn’t they have waited until after summer?”
The Gossip Board
This summer we kicked off a set of fun family challenges. Over the Independence week – we had a Giant Jenga Contest and Cornhole Tournament, and a Human Foosball Tournament. It was great fun for all the participants, and I enjoyed watching kids of all ages having a great time! The Cornhole Tournament was such a success that we’re having another one on Saturday, August 11th. So be sure to bring your cornhole game apparatus and make sure to sign up on our office bulletin board by Friday night, August 10th, to enter this popular contest with a special grand prize.
In July, we held our cutest pet contest and the winner was Michelle Willer’s service dog, Dallas. We could tell you it was fun but as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words!
Friendly Safety Reminder
Do not allow people you don’t know to follow you into the restrooms or allow someone to enter as you exit. Everyone must use their own key code. If they don’t have one, they are not a registered guest and giving them access puts you and other guests at risk. Be Alert, Be Smart, Be Safe. Letting someone you don’t know to have access is not a kindness - it is a disservice to other guests.
